braveONE is a developing nonprofit mentorship program for youth living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).
We believe no child should face T1D alone. That’s why we match kids with mentors who truly understand what it’s like to live with T1D. These mentors have faced similar challenges and are now thriving. Together, we build connection, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Our program is built on real, lasting relationships. braveONE mentors and mentees meet in person for fun, affirming outings like grabbing ice cream, going bowling, or even visiting school together while proudly showing off their CGM and pump. These shared experiences offer something no webinar or online group can provide: genuine connection, encouragement, and the reminder that T1D doesn’t define who you are.
This kind of support matters. Studies show that up to 1 in 3 children and teens with T1D experience symptoms of depression, and nearly half report diabetes burnout. braveONE is here to change that.
We’re starting with a small pilot to build a strong foundation. As interest grows, our goal is to bring braveONE to more communities across the country.
We’re not here just to talk. We’re here to build real relationships that remind every child they’re not alone.
braveONE is different from other programs because we focus on real-world connection. Our approach is personal. Mentors and mentees spend time together in everyday moments that matter. No webinars. No lectures. Just real, consistent support that builds trust and lasting relationships.
